Peter Knox, DVM Diplomate ACVS

Dr. Knox was born into the horse industry and it has remained a central theme in his life.  He grew up in southeast Idaho where he and his brothers wreaked havoc on their family’s horse breeding and training farm.  He attended Colorado State University for both his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology (1995) and for his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine degree which he completed in 2001.  He began his affiliation with Idaho Equine Hospital in 2001 as an intern.  He continued his education at Texas A&M University completing a three year, large animal-surgical residency from 2002- 2005.  He rejoined Idaho Equine in 2005 as a member of the lameness and surgery team.  He recently passed his board exams and is now a Board Certified Surgeon.  Dr. Knox is married to fellow Idaho Equine Hospital veterinarian Robin Knight and they are expecting their first child in September, 2007.  Dr. Knox enjoys skiing, running and home improvement projects.
